EVA
For Digital Illustration I mostly use Procreate. I use a heavily layered process to make sure I’m able to create and input as much detail as possible. Here is an illustration from a famous anime Neon Genesis Evangelion.
I utilize a few of Procreate Special Effects brushes to give it that shine and liquid look!
Venom
This one is a little more Illustrative, the emphasis here was to use brushes that function similar to color pencils to make a grittier more artisinal look.
Utilizing highlights whites, blues and grays I was able to great a visceral design for Venom.
Tyrannosaur
A lot of my design influence comes from nature and paleontology!
Here the idea is to start creating more textured and living skin. Often times with art the struggle is to make your subject look as alive as possible.
This is part of a small series I’m working on to practice different ways to create weathered scales, skin and texture.
